I found a Blog on the internet with information about the current
Rocksound audience.
The average reader's are aged 15-24, which is quite young, and
that 72% of the audience are men. Similar to the Kerrang! magazine target audience, Rocksound's audience will use their magazine as a source of new fashion and trends
more than any other source on the market. Staying connected is a very important
part of their lives, they value being constantly updated, and the ways readers
connect with Rock Sound is Print, Web and Social Networking. 82% of their
audience use at least two of these methods to stay connected with their Rock
Idols, and in total they spend roughly £114 million a year on music and gig
tickets. I have also found that there is an online edition of Rocksound and opportunities online for the readers to share Rocksound articles to social networking websites such as facebook and twitter.
This shows me that I will need to target some of my headlines on my final piece more
towards men, and I will have to include elements of social media within my magazine in order to keep the interest of my target audience.
